We are bound by and have adopted a privacy policy founded on the framework of the Privacy Act 1988 as amended and the Privacy Code of Conduct to ensure that all personal information is handled appropriately. Protecting your personal information is important to us.
This document describes our policies on the management of personal information received about you during visits to our web sites - that is, how we collect personal information, the purposes for which we use this information and to whom this information is disclosed. Normal Web-Site Usage
When you visit our web sites, you can use many of the on-line tools and site pages without disclosing any personal information about yourself. The only information we usually collect and keep about your visit is the web site that refers you to us, the time and date you visit the site, the pages you look at, the links you came through to get to our site, and the name of your internet service provider. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of customer visits. We do not normally collect or store personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or any other information which might allow you to be identified.

On-Line Collection of Personally Identifiable Information.
However, to use some of our current or proposed internet services, such as Account Access, Electronic Funds Transfer, BPAY and other features, we may require a certain amount of personally identifying information about you (such as your name, address, account number, vehicle identification number, post code, passwords, Australian Business Number - as appropriate) in order to provide the service you are seeking. The amount and type of information we require will vary depending on the nature of the service you request. When you provide us with personal information we will keep a record of it.

If you are, or have been, a customer of Volvo Car Finance, we may also use your personal information from time to time to advise you of goods or services which we believe may be of interest to you and which are provided by any of Volvo Car Finance, our related or affiliated companies within the Ford Group worldwide including Volvo Car Australia and our parent company FCA Holdings Limited, third parties which offer branded products on our behalf and our supporting motor vehicle dealers. If you tell us that the information should not be used as a basis for further contact for marketing purposes, we will respect your request and not use the information for those purposes.

Disclosure of your personal information
To assist us in complying with your request, it may be necessary for us to disclose your personal information to certain third parties. For example, where you have made enquiries about a motor vehicle, we will forward your enquiries to dealerships that may be able to demonstrate the model for you. The dealerships stocking the vehicle will contact you with further information.
We engage third party service providers to perform certain functions on behalf of Volvo Car Finance from time to time. Such functions include printing, mailing, data processing, trend analysis, market research, product development, research and promotions. For our service providers to perform those functions, it is sometimes necessary for us to disclose your personal information to those suppliers. Where we do so, we endeavour to ensure that all personal information we provide to them is kept secure, is only used to perform the task for which we engaged the supplier and is handled by them in accordance with the Privacy Act.
Your personal information may also be shared with, and used by, our related companies, in reliance on the related bodies corporate exemption in the Privacy Act and any other applicable exemptions in other legislation.
Otherwise, we will not share your personal information with any organisation without your consent unless we are required or permitted by law to do so.

Our ultimate parent company is Ford Motor Company, and from time to time personal information that we hold about you may be transferred overseas to companies within the Ford Group for processing or storage on Ford's secure facilities. If your information is transferred overseas it will remain subject to strict security safeguards.
